Description

The word 'jad' (or hand in English) is common in 1 Samuël 16 and 17. How many times does the writer use the word 'hand' in 1 Samuël and in which situations? Maybe it is possible to reveal why the writer uses this word so often. Has dit a meaning or is it coincidence. A next question could be: does the writer use other bodyparts to desribe what is happening in the story? Of who's hand is most important? It seems like that there are to levels in using 'hand'. First the literal hand: actions in the story. The other use of 'hand' is figuratively: something/somebody giving in somebody's hand (as in handing over). Than the actor seems like gods/God.
