Description
This query shows the cases where God (JHWH or >LHJM) is the object of the verb BRK (usually 'to bless'). A short survey of two Dutch Bible translations (NBV, HSV) shows that it is in these cases usually translated as 'to praise'. Most of the cases are, unsurprisingly, in the book of Psalms. It turns out that 2 Sam. 21:3 is an unwanted result of this query: in this verse, JHWH is part of the subject phrase, but not the subject in the narrow sense. In 1 Kgs 21, BRK is 'to curse'.
