Description
According to Bokovoy, "she placed the dish and the bread… in the and of Jacob (Gen 27:17) is gesture with cult undertones. He refers to Leviticus 1:1, 4. However, in Leviticus we find "yad", but not "b-yad". I had the impression that "to give in the hand of" is almost grammaticalised in BH. So I want to check how often it occurs. It appears that this idiom occurs so often, that I find it hard to assign a cultic undertone to the use of JD "hand". See Bokovoy's "From the Hand of Jacob: A Ritual Analysis of Genesis 27" https://journals.lib.byu.edu/spc/index.php/SBA/article/view/19533
